Southwark Law Centre is seeking to recruit an experienced Receptionist/Administrator based at our busy office in Peckham to act as the first point of contact in delivering an outstanding level of customer service.

Southwark Law Centre is a charity, set up in 1976, committed to working within the community to enforce the rights of local people and access to justice. We provide high-quality casework and representation service in housing, immigration/asylum, employment, public law and welfare rights to people in Southwark and surrounding boroughs.

 

You will work as part of our small, friendly, excellent administrative team. The role of the Administrative/Receptionist team is vital to the smooth operation of the Law Centre.

 

You will need to demonstrate the following essential key skills and abilities:

  • ·     Experience in providing reception and administrative support in a busy office environment.
  • ·     Ability to work on own initiative, organise and prioritise own work, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • ·     Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, the Internet and email, and a willingness to learn and use other software packages as needed
  • ·     Good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate sensitively to a wide cross-section of the public/other agencies and team members.

You will need an understanding of the community served by the Law Centre. The ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate initiative are essential. This role would be ideal for someone interested in developing a career within the charity sector and office administration.
